Widening Access summer taster sessions

July 11, 2018 | Filed under: outreach and tagged with: outreach, public engagement

Had a great time today meeting students in Buxton and delivering a taster session to give an idea what it is like at university and encourage young people to consider it. The 3 day residential event was run by University of Derby and aimed at raising aspirations of year 10 students who might not have thought university was an option open to them. My colleague Laura and I explored fossils and the living world with the students as part of our Environmental Science workshop.
